This is the best hair shine serum I have tried and to be honest this is what I have come to expect from the professional brand of Percy & Reed.
If you are looking for a high-gloss finish for your hair, you need look no further as this oil-infused shine serum really delivers for that super sleek look. I have never tried a hair shine serum that has worked as effectively as this one does. It’s a lightweight serum and works brilliantly on all hair types, cleverly smoothing and sealing each strand of hair to boost light reflection.
It is able to deliver such a high shine as it contains shine-enhancing ingredients, including protein-rich kalahari melon seed oil and conditioning argan oil, included so the serum can deliver radiant gloss to your hair. I’m a fan of argan oil as it helps to care for dry and brittle hair whilst also boosting that shine. The Kalahari melon seed oil will help to deeply nourish your hair, leaving it hydrated and feeling silky smooth.
I think the worry for most of us is that most serums just weigh your hair down, but that’s not the case with this one as it is this serum works really well for thick hair and is lightweight enough to not weigh down finer hair. This nourishing serum adds shine and softness so you don’t need to be anxious that your hair will feel greasy or oily. Plus it is also gluten free and vegan-friendly too.
Another huge plus point for me is that you can use it on wet and dry hair. Whichever way works for you can be assured that your hair will look smooth, soft and of course shiny. Percy & Reed have infused this serum with one of their signature scents, A Walk with Nature. This is an uplifting, floral fragrance that evokes the scent of the British Countryside in bloom, with citrus top notes, floral heart notes and a musky base.
To use on wet hair:
- Wash and condition hair with shampoo and conditioner of your choice, Percy & Reed recommend their Time To Shine Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner. Then work 2-4 drops of the serum, depending on hair length, through towel-dried hair.
- Dry and style as normal.
On dry hair:

- Dry and style as normal.
- Apply sparingly, remember you can always add more, so sparingly is the key here. Then finish off your style for a sleek, gloss finish.
This is certainly my most favourite way to add a mirror-like shine to my hair!
