Mario Dallavalle is a third generation ice cream maker, who has combined his Italian heritage with the finest ingredients to produce luxuriously indulgent dairy ice cream.
Mario’s is based in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire a busy little town nestling amongst some of the finest countryside in Wales. With over fifty years experience in traditional ice cream making techniques, One of the secrets behind his multi award winning luxury ice cream is that Mario is passionate about supporting local farmers where possible and sources his milk from Welsh farms, not to mention a little Italian passion thrown in for good measure.
Mario’s Ice Cream Company is most definitely a family firm, for which Mario’s wife Heather, Son’s Riccardo and Alessandro and daughters Francesca and Caitlin work.
Mario is extremely proud to have brought back the ‘Silver challenge cup’ for the best dairy ice cream in the UK to Carmarthenshire on three occasions, proving testimony that the milk and cream from Carmarthenshire farms make the best ice cream.
Mario’s have won numerous awards throughout the years, most recent one being a 3 star great taste award for our Red Cherry Sorbet and nominated for a Golden fork award. To win a 3 star is a great honour.
Mario’s Ice cream work very closely with wholesaler Castell Howell foods, to supply the local food industry with award winning ice cream, in over 40 different lines, from scooping ice cream, to impulse buys and even handmade ice cream desserts.
Mario’s also supply some Supermarkets around Wales, you can find us in Morrison’s, Coop’s, and Aldi’s in a range of different flavours.
