Blas ar Fwyd Featured Award Winning Products at Speciality Fine Food Fair

There was a strong Welsh presence in London earlier this month. Blas ar Fwyd featured award winning products at Speciality Fine Food Fair, described as the UK’s leading showcase of fine food and drink.

As part of the Welsh showcase stand, Blas ar Fwyd, from Llanrwst featured a broad range of award winning products that have acheived 35 Great Taste Awards since they first entered in 2004. Great Taste is the world’s most coveted blind-tasting food awards, providing a trusted benchmark accreditation for artisan and speciality food producers. This year the Apple and Apricot Chutney, Cranberry Sauce, and Lemon, Raspberry and Strawberry cheesecakes all received Great Taste Awards. The cheesecakes continued to steal the show at Speciality, as both tasting pots and samples flew off the stand to an overwhelmingly positive reaction.

As well as a producer, Blas ar Fwyd are also a distributor of Welsh food and drink and many of their partner companies were exhibiting at the fair, including Llaeth y Llan, Coconut Kitchen, Welsh Lady Preserves, Selwyn’s Seaweed and Apple County Cider to name a few. Apple County Cider had a spectacular show, receiving their second prestigious and much coveted Golden Fork award. Only 14 Golden Fork awards are presented each year with one award being given for the best food or drink product in each region. Apple County’s Dabinett cider won this year following their Vilberie Cider’s Golden Fork award in 2015, showcasing Apple County as a force to be reckoned with in the cider world!

With over 37 countries being represented at Speciality Fine Food Fair, the multi-award winning producers on the Welsh showcase stand distinguished Wales as an up and coming nation for fine food and drink. The attention received from buyers, members of press, wholesalers and producers made it a truly enjoyable, positive and encouraging experience for Welsh food representatives.
