Cai England, Head Chef of the Piercefield, St Arvans together with Sous Chef Alex Nock will be demonstrating some tasty vegetarian treats at this years Monmouthshire Food Festival. Make a date to see them cook in the Demonstration Theatre on Saturday 10th October at 12 o’clock. Cai and Alex are two young chefs who are making their mark in delicious vegetarian food, having said that you don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy their great cooking. They also make sure that their dishes are gluten free and allergy free.
Alex will tempt your tastebuds with a tasty soup. When I asked which soup he was demonstrating I was told that it was surprise so we will all have to wait and see. Having tasted many of Alex’s soups whatever it is it will be excellent.
Next up Cai will show you how to make a great risotto. He will show just how easy it is to make the basic recipe. Once you have learned the basics you can try lots of both vegetarian and non vegetarian flavourings.
What better way to end the demonstration than with a luscious lemon posset served with lemon flavoured shortbread biscuits?
If Cai and Alex’s demonstration has given you a taste for more vegetarian food your next stop has to be Veggiedeli.
