The Monmouthshire Food Festival has a packed programme of demonstrations, talks, tastings, kid’s workshops and lots of artisan food and drink to try and buy.
The Chef’s Theatre,at Monmouthshire Food Festival, features many of Monmouthshire’s best chefs who will give a taste of the county’s finest hotels and restaurants. Joining us in the Chef’s Theatre is Liam Whittle, a development chef who was a semi finalist from Professional Masterchef. Also demonstrating is Tim McDougall, Head Chef of the Llansantffraed Court Hotel. His demonstrations are legendary and not to be missed. Yvette Farrell, Principal of Hartsbarn Cookery School will also be on stage to share the secret of baking a perfect scone for afternoon tea. More demonstrations will be confirmed shortly.
Courtesy of Guide Dogs Cymru, some of the cleverest canines around will be attending the Monmouthshire Food Festival. Guide dog Mason together with his owner Nathan will give a demonstration on how blind people prepare meals for their family. Also there will be a sensory tunnel to try. Put on a blindfold and find out what it is like to be able to hear but not see.
Once again The Children’s Quarter will be hosted by a team from Monmouthshire Youth Service. They will have lots of activities for our young foodies to enjoy with one or two surprises! This year’s activities will focus on food in the fresh air.
The Producers Market is full of delicious food and drink to try and buy. Whether a glass of beer brewed just a mile and a half from Caldicot Castle’s drawbridge or some Monmouthshire made brownies. Cheese lovers will have lots of artisan cheeses to choose from together with award winning ciders and beers.
Why not stay for lunch, perhaps a gourmet burger, pizza with a difference or maybe a picnic treat in the grounds of the Castle with food and drink from our Producers Market?
