King Street Gallery artist Sarah Maria Rhys presents ‘An Exhibition of Retrospective and Recent Work’ in the Chate Room from 10th – 30th June 2016.
The exhibition will comprise mostly of paintings in oils, and the subject of these works will be Carmarthen’s Pentrepoeth School (now demolished), Carmarthen town and people, coalminers and scenes of Industrial Wales. In addition there will also be works exploring the mystic and surreal.
“I like to paint ‘composite’ images of Welsh Industrial towns and scenes of Carmarthen and its people,” says Sarah. “I have painted portraits of Welsh coalminers from the last century taken from old photographs. For a complete change I do paintings of the surreal and the ridiculous!
