I need to start dear readers with a confession as I am addicted to Olverum’s bath oil. It is the ultimate bath oil for me and although their 125ml size is enough for 25 baths, I’m rather too heavy handed for it to last 25 baths, but it is such a treat to use. Now the company have brought out a body polish and I was delighted to try that. The body polish is actually an exfoliator that has been created to buff your skin gently, without scratching. The texture is much like a soufflé texture and as you glide it onto your skin it offers deep nourishment, lightening and brightening your skin. What a difference it made to my skin, it looked much more toned, had a glow and felt wonderful to touch.
The Olverum body polish is suitable for all skin types and is a product I’d love to gift and even more so as it is vegan and cruelty-free, free from artificial preservatives, fragrance and colourants, silicone, mineral oil, petrolatum, sulphates, parabens, triclosan and animal derived ingredients.
Now you may be wondering how this polish works, so I’ll try and explain. First, fermented papaya enzyme gently breaks down dead skin cells, allowing penetrating, cleansing hydroclay to lift and eliminate deep-set impurities. Now I’ve tried many, many body scrubs and most are very abrasive so to try this one which has a light, aerated texture, allowing you to give yourself an intensive massage and to maximise the effects of the mechanical exfoliants of bamboo and pumice to polish your skin and give it a satin finish. There’s also a carefully balanced fusion of essential oils that work to help purify your skin and help your skin retain moisture. Firming bergamot oil, lavandin and geranium oil work in together to boost your skin’s elasticity actually for me making my skin feel and look a little younger – which is a bonus! The contouring botanicals of grapefruit and fennel oil also brighten your skin tone and spirit alike and blend beautifully with the invigorating scents of patchouli oil and ylang ylang. But of course all I wanted to know was would it work? Answer, without a doubt, it did! I just applied it onto cleansed damp skin, then massaged with circular motions which helps boost the exfoliation benefits by stimulating blood circulation. I then left it on for a few minutes, actually whilst I cleaned my teeth, so the papaya enzyme could penetrate my skin more deeply, then just rinsed off. I now have slipped this super product into my routine and use it once or twice a week.
