White Castle Vineyard’s quality, award winning welsh wines delighted visitors at the Three Wine Men Cardiff event on 11th & 12th October. The capital of Wales was host to the event and being the first welsh vineyard at any Three Wine Men event, White Castle Vineyard certainly triumphed.
Two days of sharing their passion, and quality award winning welsh wines with the trio, Oz Clarke, Tim Atkin & Olly Smith certainly raised their profile.
Oz Clarke’s tasting note:
‘Regent 2013 – Here’s me wondering whether England can make tasty Reds. Hey – head to Wales – just out of Abergavenny on the Ross Road, White Castle Vineyard grows scented cherryish Regent grapes that make this Celtic Red a patriotic triumph’. With the fruits of their labour handpicked by family & friends over 3 days harvest 2014 is a distant past “It’s all about getting the plump sun kissed grapes into the press as soon as possible” Good quality grapes with good analysis.
Festive Cheers & Festive Sparkle at The Cellar Door 6th & 7th December shall herald the release of their 2012 Sparkling White Wine and local artisan truffles made with their own sparkling wine.
White Castle Vineyard’s festive selection includes an array of handmade welsh cheeses and is sure to bring you plenty of festive cheer! And see you through the winter days in style. A warm welcome is extended to all who visit.
