Cabaret Powis welcomes you to Kill for a Seat Comedy. This package of comedians have been running gigs across the UK for nearly 16 years, including sell-out shows for Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Llangollen Royal International Pavilion, Blackwood Miner's Institute, the Queens' Hall, Narberth and many more. You are guaranteed a great night of laughter that will be a real bargain, too.
The headliner tonight is TOM WRIGGLESWORTH. Tom was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2009, after receiving rapturous receptions. " The Gods of Comedy chose Tom Wrigglesworth for greatness .'" Scotsman .
Tom Wrigglesworth is a softly endearing 33 year old Yorkshire comic, defined by some stylish one-liners and an easy ability to riff with the audience. He has a strong self-deprecating streak, and his material is drawn from everyday domesticity. Yet this cosy persona also comes with a keen eye for the absurd that yields a stack of inventive, original observations that provide a rock-solid foundation for his set. Tom Wrigglesworth is one of the main acts on the UK stand-up circuit, and is appearing in BANGOR for the very first time. Support comes from NICK DOODY, who opened for the late, great BILL HICKS at personal request. "Very impressive ... unfailingly good punchlines ... intelligent and funny ... comes with the chortle seal of approval" CHORTLE magazine. The evening will also feature a special guest, plus your compere for the evening, SILKY. 'Massively engaging guitar-playing stand-up whose instinctive rapport with audiences makes him welcome wherever he goes.'
