Welsh celebrities and students from local schools and colleges will come together in a musical collaboration between Gower College Swansea and the Grand Theatre, to celebrate the rich and diverse culture of Wales. This St David’s Day Celebration will take place on Thursday 1st March at Swansea Grand Theatre at 7.30pm.
Topping the bill is the hugely popular Carmarthen born comedian Mike Doyle, who is celebrating thirty years in the entertainment business. Joining Mike will be the renowned stage and television actor Llinos Daniel, who is also the sole female singer and harpist with the Black Mountain Male Singers.
The evening’s entertainment will be presided over by the actor Phylip Harries, whose television work has included a run of three years in the longest running BBC soap opera, Pobol y Cwm, as Ken Coslett. He is also known as the country's sauciest pantomime dame, having appeared in this guise for Clwyd Theatr Cymru, The Riverfront Theatre Newport, and all over South Wales with the Owen Money Theatre Company.
This memorable evening of entertainment will also feature students from local primary and secondary schools, including Y.G. Bryntawe, Y.G Gwyr, Y.G.G. Bryn Y Mor and Y.G.G. Llwynderw and Gower College Swansea.
Tickets for the St David’s Day Celebration are available from Swansea Grand Theatre’s Box Office on 01792 475715 or can be reserved online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk and are £10.00 and £12.00.
