fishing-may-june-12The Good Book tells us that on the fifth day of creation the Lord created fish to inhabit the world's waters. It is thought that of all the species he created, the last must have been the Sewin (or sea-trout) - hence its perfection after a whole day of practice and refinement with the others.

Who would not go along with the notion of perfection when it comes to the Sewin when thinking of its shape, colour, fighting spirit and taste? For decades the Sewin has been the quarry for all discerning anglers, but alas of late there has been a huge decline in the number of Sewin running our rivers. Such has been the decline that in recent years angling clubs in Wales have brought in measures to prevent over exploitation of this beautiful and enigmatic fish. So what's so special about the Sewin - what exactly is it?
