Scorpio, Oct 24 - Nov 22

Rarely do I say this, but this looks like being a good time, so antennae up for opportunities. These are most likely to occur either in areas concerning travel or else in areas concerning children or even grandchildren - taking the grandkids on holiday abroad would be a great thing to do now! This is not so much a time of hard work or disciplined effort; it is more a time of expanding one's mind and consciousness through direct experience at the cultural level. So go somewhere you've never been, do something you've never done, bring an energy of stimulation into your life by doing something novel. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Sagittarius, Nov 23 - Dec 21

Often there's a pull in life between two directly opposite sides of experience, and now is such a time. If you're not careful then you can get almost dichotomised in the pull between home and family on the one hand, and career and work on the other. And it would be easy to go the whole hog, to lose balance and go completely to extremes if you're not careful. There is an energy of over inflation and exaggeration about many of the things in your immediate circle - don't buy into the hype and spin because by doing so a drama becomes a crisis, you'll have to sort it out, and then you'll get the blame. Better to stand in the middle and watch dispassionately.

Capricorn, Dec 22 - Jan 20

Some of the intensity and extremes of recent months is now beginning to fade away, but don't get fooled into thinking that it's all over, because it's not. You're merely heading in to a period of respite, where you can begin to explore and expand into some of the new areas of life that have been forced into existence over recent months. It's tentative steps at first, but the decrease in gravity and stress does encourage you to slowly pick up speed, and as long as you don't gallop, you'll find that these times bring new experiences that steadily broaden your horizons without upsetting anything or anyone. You can begin to come out of your cave, the big boys have gone for the medium term.

Aquarius, Jan 21 - Feb 19

I know that it's early days, but from an astrological perspective the most active times of 2010 are already past. Note the use of the word active, however, the coming few months are going to be highly re-active, particularly in the area of your one to one relationships, whether professional, personal, family or friend. And over March and April you can really get your buttons pushed, by what seems on the surface to be other people's insensitivity, so lower your threshold for retaliation, it's not deliberate on their part, it's just that you're seeing things from a much more personal perspective, and you're wearing your heart on your sleeve. Keep your shields up!

Pisces, Feb 20 - Mar 20

March is possibly the most active month of the year, with the Sun, Mercury, Venus and especially Jupiter running riot through your sign. It's a great month for being more outgoing, optimistic and bouncy, but it's also going to be very easy to overstretch yourself, quite possibly financially, so by all means enjoy yourself, but keep an eye on the purse strings. The start of the month is very good indeed for negotiations, contracts, plans, debates and discussions, you should be in a lot more of an amenable state to let other people have their own opinions and ideas, as long as they don't directly conflict with yours - and even then you're not going to be bothered, you'll merely move on. Great time.

Aries, Mar 21 - Apr 20

How are you creative juices now? Are you feeling blocked, stymied or otherwise unable to come up with anything new or innovative? I'm not surprised. With Mars standing still now it's good for biding one's time, for standing still and allowing the fermentation to take place around you. If you try and interfere in the process, the end result will not be as pure as you would like. There's a kind of metamorphosis going on, if you have children you're likely to see this through them, otherwise it's your own creative endeavours. Don't allow desires for normal and conventional to rule now - the more unusual your drives, the more long term success they will bring.

Taurus, Apr 21 - May 21

There's a gradual acceleration becoming more obvious as time unfolds, the closer we get to May and June the more favourable your chart is looking. But at the moment it is only a glimmer on the horizon, and were you to take big or sudden actions now they would inevitably prove to be premature. Bide your time. The urgency that resides within you now, is best left to mature and become more complete. You can have short term gratification now if you wish, but there's a case for waiting a few more months, when the quality of experience may not be so direct, but will be of better all round quality. Fast quantity or long term quality - the choice is yours.

Gemini, May 22 - Jun 21

It's easy to be all things to all people, but every so often the elastic stretches too much, the veneer wears thin and you want to back off and retreat. Now is such a time, except that for once retreat is just not possible. Especially in your professional and career circles, you're becoming uncomfortably visible, so make sure that all your actions are above board and transparent, because if there's anything untoward about your dealings, be sure that it will be seen. Stay squeaky clean and all will be well. At the same time, the hardest thing to do is exactly that which is being asked of you - to remain stable, remain visible and not let anything get to you.

Cancer, Jun 22 - Jul 23

I know that this is going to sound crazy bearing in mind your current circumstances, but this period of time is great to just throw everything up in the air and grab your passport and run before it all comes down again. The idea of a two or three day break does wonders for charging your battery banks, and now is one of the best times of year to consider this. And if it's not travel that appeals to you in terms of stretching the grey area between your ears and adding to your cultural and philosophical side, then the idea of higher education can also bring a better reward than usual. Broaden your mind, whether through travel or education. Time to stretch a bit.

Leo, Jul 24 - Aug 23

Cat on a hot tin roof. You're in potentially such a volatile state that you could easily alienate or wear out those around you, through your high activity rate and your apparent insensitivity to what's going on around you. With Mars standing still in your sign now, there's such an imperative for action that you need to make decisions, otherwise they will be made on your behalf, and it's better to act than react. But despite the almost critical desire for action, bide your time. Now is the time to make decisions - actions come over the approaching few weeks and months, and Mars' capacity for impulsiveness and rash actions is well deserved. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by jumping in head first!

Virgo, Aug 24 - Sept 23

By now you should be well on the road to recovery after the last couple of years of having Saturn stay with you, and this recovery shows every sign of continuing to develop and improve over coming weeks and months. But there's going to come a time in June and July when both Mars and Saturn will be together in your sign, so keep your powder dry until then . At the moment, with a lot of planets in your opposite sign of Pisces, the tendency will be to try and go faster, overreach or stretch yourself to the limits. Why? There's no need, so rest up and continue recharging. In a couple of month's time you'll be glad you did, and July is the fastest time of the year.

Libra, Sept 24 - Oct 23

Since November, Saturn's been putting the brakes on many of the areas of your life, but now is the temporary finale to this, you should be finding that as both March and April evolve, so you regain a kind of stability. When you're at rock bottom you can put your feet down on solid ground and then spring back confidently. But you have to be at the bottom in order to do this, so it's almost as if I'm encouraging you to do it the hard way, because at least then you only have to do it once. Life is never easy when Saturn is involved, but at least you can see the challenges that are around you and deal with them by slow, gradual hard work, with no short cuts.
