Members of the public, landowners and developers are being reminded that the deadline to submit Candidate Sites for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park’s emerging Local Development Plan (LDP) is fast approaching.
The National Park Authority is revising its LDP, with the new plan expected to be adopted by the end of 2019, guiding development in the Park area up to 2031. The deadline for submission of sites is 4.30pm on Friday 25 November 2016. Please note submissions cannot be kept confidential and will be made public.
The Authority’s Head of Park Direction, Martina Dunne said: “A separate form must be submitted for each site and it is important to provide as much information as possible.
“Whilst the Authority will consider the acceptability of each site for development, it will also be very important for the proposer to demonstrate how they intend to bring the site forward for development during the new LDP period (end date 2031). The proposer may also be asked for further evidence to show when and how this will be achieved.
“Please note that if your site is already allocated in the current LDP but has not been developed to date you will need to resubmit your site as a Candidate Site if you wish it to be considered for inclusion in the replacement plan.”
“This is part of an information gathering exercise and there is no commitment that all Candidate Sites will be taken forward into the replacement LDP as they will need to meet the criteria-based assessment.”
Guidance notes, which include links to further information, have been prepared to help assist with completion of the forms.
All sites will be entered onto a Candidate Sites Register which will be published alongside the Preferred Strategy of the Replacement LDP which is scheduled for April/May 2017. The Register will detail the site assessment and whether it is suitable in principle for inclusion in the revised LDP.
Submissions can be made electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org or sent in paper format to the Park Direction Service, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, SA72 6DY.
There is no charge from the National Park Authority for assessing Candidate Sites but please note that there is a charge for photocopying and printed copies of documents that are available online. Charges from other bodies may apply.
