Margam park set to make another huge splash!

It’s Wales’s biggest and best boat show, and there’s something for everyone to do on the water at the South Wales Boat Show.

The South Wales Boat Show is returning to Margam Park for the third action-packed time. To be held over the weekend Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15, the show has more exhibitors and products than ever to see, with more than 170 companies – local, national and international – attending.

“Our carpeted 6,000 sq ft marquee is sold out again and with over 250 craft and products already confirmed, we are very proud that our family-run show has grown to become the biggest of its type in the UK,” said show organiser Ben Sutcliffe.

“There’s so much to do – it makes a great family day out. As well as heaps of new craft for sale, boats on show include the fastest production sailing boat – the Rave from Windrider, which is sold by a Welsh company, McLagan Leisure. “Powerboat junkies can check out the fastest Blade Runner powerboat from Pembrokeshire Sports Boats – it has a top speed of 101mph! “

All types of watersports, from fishing, sailing and surfing to powerboating will also be there. “Other things to do include a free ‘come and try a boat’ on the lake, a pirate ship on a specially created beach area (supported by the RNLI beach safety team), a funfair, Thundercat display, hovercraft rides, paintball, and much more,” said Ben. “We also have a special guest: SpongeBob SquarePants, who is on the Barkers Leisure Stand for the big weekend.

And don’t forget, Sunday 15th is Father’s Day. There’s lots of ways to treat your dad – you could get him zapped on a Zap Cat on the lake or he could try to win a bottle of Penderyn Welsh Whiskey.” Exhibitors at the show, which will be opened by National Boat Shows’ managing director Andrew Williams on Friday, include Pembrokeshire Sports Boats, Versa Dock, RNLI, angling companies, Greenwell Marine, Cambrian Boat Centre, Laser Sailing, Young’s Boat Yard, Fairline, Sealine, Maxium, Ebbtide, Avon, Jeanneau, Dolphin Boats, Land Rover, The Wave Road Show and too many more to list here.
