Climate change. For how long have we ignored those simple words? Not any more it seems. The latest story to hit the headlines: Horticulturists say we can now throw away our old gardening books - seasons have changed so much we can no longer rely on the old ground rules, like planting on a certain day of the year, harvesting on another. Now exotic plants that years ago could only be grown in the greenhouse can often happily thrive in the garden. Once we were pushed to get hold of a daffodil in time for St David's Day - this year we were sporting them on our Christmas dinner tables. The producers of packets of seeds are having to rethink their planting times and advice, and I recently even managed to grow a passion fruit on a hill in the south Wales valleys.
