Tre-Ysgawen Hall, Llangefni, Isle of Anglesey
Tre-Ysgawen HallWhen a friend asked me to join her for a Spa Indulgence break, there was only one answer – yes please! As we drove along the private wooded drive towards Tre-Ysgawen Hall, which is set in the heart of the Isle of Anglesey, we were immediately taken with the tranquillity; just what we needed for our ‘chill out’ break. Built in 1882, Tre-Ysgawen has been extended and refurbished to the highest standards and is now one of the most acclaimed Country House Hotels in Wales. We arrived on a Friday evening, having pre-booked a one hour Marine Cocoon Body Treatment and a Reflexology Treatment for Saturday as well as a Marine Infusion Facial and a luxury Jessica Manicure on Sunday. A whole weekend of pampering, how absolutely perfect.

The Rooms:

There are 27 de luxe bedrooms and two four-poster suites both with a bathroom Jacuzzi. Our room was beautifully appointed in a traditional style, relaxed and restful. We met some other guests who were equally happy in a modern style room in the Courtyard wing. Under our Spa Indulgence package there was a half bottle of champagne awaiting us in our room as well as a small gift – what a good start.

The Menu:
The menus are constantly changing with the focus on seasonal foods using local and regional produce. A superb wine list meant our happiness was complete. The Library/Drawing Room: Elegant, comfortable and an ideal place to relax. This room has a wall to ceiling hand made oak bookcase with an excellent choice of books for guests to enjoy.

The Garden:
Eleven acres of woodland with landscaped gardens surrounding the hotel. On the woodland walk you will find a Victorian walled garden where many of the vegetables served in the hotel are grown. During the summer months, guests can enjoy a game of Croquet on the front lawn.

The Spa:
Was converted from the original Victorian stables and has retained many of its original features including an impressive clock tower. Built and equipped to the highest standards, we enjoyed a leisurely swim after a stint in the steam room and also took advantage of the sauna and the whirlpool. The gym was very well equipped, but as our time was definitely for pampering, we didn’t indulge in that! Our Spa package included lunch on Saturday and Sunday in the Clock Tower Café Wine Bar and dinner on Friday and Saturday in the Restaurant. Breakfast is also included. Extra nights can be booked.

Why visit?
That seems a really stupid question after such a relaxing and pampering weekend. I can only suggest that if you get an opportunity to visit Tre-Ysgawen Hall, grab it. As well as the Indulgence package there is a Spa Experience Break for those who might want to sample a Spa for the first time. We enjoyed our visit so much that we are hoping to join our husbands on their next business conference In North Wales. In fact as Tre-Ysgawen has great conference facilities, they could have it there too!

And the Spa Indulgence cost?
Per person per night: Fri - Sun inclusive from £182.00. Four poster Suite with Jacuzzi £215.00. Mon -Thurs inclusive: £170.00 & £203.00. A discount is available on your third night (DB&B) when staying 3 or more nights including Sunday.
