 As I’m rather partial to Pembrokeshire, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit Nant y Coy on the outskirts of Haverfordwest, which a friend had recommended. The Riverbend Café at the Nant y Coy Arts and Creativity Centre provides fresh, delicious and nutritious snacks, meals and beverages which are, as far as possible, organic and local. From bread to bottled water, from their smoked salmon to their vegetables, their aim is to provide the healthiest food they can, free from additives, preservatives and treatments.

 Set on the edge of Brecon Beacons National Park, this hotel has for many centuries been at the heart of the Llandovery community. The Castle has had a huge re-vamp under the enthusiastic new owners, so the time was right to check it out.

Over
the years I’ve been a regular visitor to Llanwrtyd Wells, which nestles in the
foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in Powys.
Noted for its great Food Festival, Llanwrtyd is also renowned as a Gourmet
Oasis for its selection of fine restaurants and pubs. So with a Good Food Guide
listing for four years and an A.A. Rosette for the last three years, I couldn’t
understand why I hadn’t visited Lasswade before, especially as its also been
recommended as one of the best places to eat in the area.

about an exciting new restaurant and bar in the heart of St Davids, just on the
High Street that had only been open twelve months – then it was a great excuse
to pay them a surprise visit.
